I have to give Central Parking in San Francisco some credit. They are forever experimenting with pricing to see how much money they can extract from the parking public.
Right now they are testing how much money people will spend not to have to cross the road. On one side, where all the offices are, they're charging $18. On the other side, in plain view of the first lot, just $12. So, $6 and a 50% premium not to have to cross the street. And it seems like many people are happy (or not unhappy enough) to pay the extra.
I wonder if any of these people are the same ones who'll drive across town to save 5 cents a gallon on gas?

One less road to cross
